Colorbond®, the iconic Australian steel manufacturer, has announced the addition of three new roofing colours to its already extensive palette.

As a proud supplier of BlueScope®, Capricorn Roofing sees this as an exciting evolution for our business and customers.

These changes will provide an even greater choice for our customers, and we’re looking forward to working with BlueScope® to bring these new colours to our customers.

Clean, crisp and timeless

COLORBOND® steel in the colour Dover White™ is inspired by the chalky sands, glistening ghost gum bark and pristine alpine snow. Clean, crisp and timeless, COLORBOND® steel Dover White™ brings a fresh direction to the COLORBOND® steel colour palette. Endlessly compatible, this bright white unifies a tonal scheme or brings fresh contrast to darker colours where needed. From distinctive contemporary forms to more traditional style homes, use COLORBOND® steel Dover White™ confidently in roofing and walling or as a highlight through gutters, fascias and garage doors.

Use in roofing and walling for ultra-modern style homes or for fencing and sheds as a complementary addition to the tones in silver-grey plants.

La Niña declared for Eastern Australia https://capricornroofing.com.au/la-nina-declared-for-eastern-australia/ https://capricornroofing.com.au/la-nina-declared-for-eastern-australia/#respond Wed, 24 Nov 2021 04:07:48 +0000 https://capricornroofing.com.au/?p=3670
La Niña declared for Eastern Australia Sunshine Coast

The Bureau of Meteorology has declared a La Niña, the climate driver typically associated with wet conditions for eastern and northern Australia over summer.

With the wet season quickly approaching, it’s time to maintain your roof, just like you would your car.

Here are 4 maintenance tips during the rainy season.

1.           Check your roof regularly

We recommend you check your roof every six months. If you have any of the following or any concerns, don’t hesitate to contact our team on 1300 147 663.

– Signs of aging, discoloration, build-up of debris

– Rusty roof screws

2.           Clean up debris and other particles

Water pooling on the roof can eventually cause leaks and even more serious problems for your home in the long run. Make sure you clean all the branches, leaves, dirt, and other debris from your house’s roof. Keeping the roof clean and clear gives rainwater an apparent path out of your roof after a rainstorm event.

3.           Clean your gutters

A gutter plays a vital part in your building’s roofing system as the main purpose of building the gutter is to evacuate and collect the water that settles on the roof. It also removes water from the foundation of the building to protect the exterior surfaces as well as to prevent water from entering the premises.

4.           Trim any overhanging tree branches

Consider eliminating branches or foliage over hanging as there are higher chances of blockages and gutter problems due to leaves or branches that might be stuck in between the path of passing water.

Besides, it will diminish the possibility of them falling during, rain, storm or wind and damaging your building.

5 Signs Of Roof Damage | Roofing Sunshine Coast Expert Tips https://capricornroofing.com.au/damaged-roofing-sunshine-coast/ https://capricornroofing.com.au/damaged-roofing-sunshine-coast/#respond Wed, 24 Mar 2021 00:44:44 +0000 https://capricornroofing.com.au/?p=3030
Roofing Sunshine Coast

There is nothing worse than a pesky leak in the roof or a mould patch appearing in the centre of your ceiling. The team at Capricorn Roofing Sunshine Coast doesn’t take damaged roofing lightly. Leaving noticeable roof damage for too long can result in unexpected repair costs and, sometimes, dangerous circumstances.

Capricorn uses reliable and durable Colorbond® roofing to ensure your home is safe from roofing damage. Our roofing Sunshine Coast experts have supplied five noticeable signs that its time for a roof replacement.

Identifying Damaged Roofing | Sunshine Coast

#1 Water Damage

Look for dark spots or stains appearing in the ceiling or walls. Roofing water damage can also occur as a puddle on the flooring or carpet. This is more dangerous due to electrical wiring in the ceiling and walls.

#2 Mould

Mould isn’t always easy to identify until its too late. It usually begins with a stain, smudge or fuzz growing on the roofing. Moulding can be toxic and cause physical health issues for families if not addressed in the early stages of mould growth.

#3 Ageing

If you have recently purchased a new roof and are noticing signs of ageing or rust, there is a possibility the quality or structural design of your roofing isn’t durable. Our roofing Sunshine Coast experts can replace your roof with durable (and stylish!) Colorbond® Steel Roofing.

#4 Cracks or Structural Damage

Sometimes cracks and structural damage isn’t always easy to see. However, if not checked properly, cracked roofing can damage the structural timber holding your roofing together.

#5 Sagging

Sagging roofing is no joke! Sagging is an obvious sign your roofing is seriously damaged and one of the first signs your roof needs replacing. Look for puddling on the roof’s outer side, but be careful to walk about the sagging area, as the structure beneath is not safe.

We’re the Colorbond Roofing Sunshine Coast Experts!

Colorbond® is the leading steel roofing brand for Australian homes and businesses. Colorbond® steel is tested against heat, cold, dust, rain, wind and hail to ensure it is durable for Australian homes. With different grades and types of steel that suit all homes in all locations, Colorbond® roofing is expected to last 100 years with proper painting, treating and maintenance.

What’s Next For You?

Take the time to go outside and inspect your roof. If you notice any of the above signs, Capricorn Roofing Sunshine Coast can help! For more information about roofing replacements – check out our roof replacement process here.

Can you claim roofing insurance works for hail damage? https://capricornroofing.com.au/roofing-insurance-works-for-hail-damage/ https://capricornroofing.com.au/roofing-insurance-works-for-hail-damage/#respond Thu, 28 Jan 2021 05:21:26 +0000 https://capricornroofing.com.au/?p=2785
Can you claim roofing insurance works for hail damage? Sunshine Coast

Your Roofing Insurance Questions - Answered!

Have the recent hail storms damaged your roof in the Brisbane and Ipswich area? Your home insurance policy may cover roof replacement costs due to extreme damage from hail storms. Read on to find out how to claim compensation for roofing insurance works.

What damage do roofing insurance plans cover?

While there are many different home insurance providers and policies, most will cover damage that is out of your control, such as hail storms. Many households in the Brisbane and Ipswich area have claimed roofing insurance following the hail storm in October 2020. It is important to contact your insurance provider as soon as possible to find out if your roof is covered. Delaying a claim can make it harder to receive compensation, and increase the risk of further damage to your home.

To find out more on what is typically covered under roofing insurance plans, read our blog on “5 roof replacement jobs covered by your insurer”.

How do I claim roofing insurance?

A roof insurance claim can be confusing and daunting for homeowners who are unfamiliar with the process. Capricorn Roofing is here to help make the process from claim to roof replacement as efficient as possible. Below are our five steps to making a roofing insurance claim:

Step 1: Contact your insurer and make a claim.

Step 2: Request Capricorn Roofing as your preferred roof repairer.

Step 3: Book a time with Capricorn Roofing to complete your insurance assessment.

Step 4: Submit your roof repair report to your insurance company.

Step 5: Book a time with Capricorn Roofing to complete your roof repairs.

How can Capricorn Roofing help with roofing insurance works?

There are often delays in processing roofing insurance claims due to a large number of damaged homes following a storm. Capricorn Roofing can help speed up the process by providing a timely quote and professional roof damage report. This can be sent directly to your insurance company. You may receive a cash payout, otherwise ask the insurance company to use Capricorn Roofing as your preferred repairer. Once this roofing insurance claim is approved, Capricorn Roofing can organise a time to replace your roof.

Capricorn Roofing is a preferred installer for many insurance companies in the Brisbane region and has completed hundreds of roof replacements following major storm events across Queensland. For a free quote, advice or general enquiry, contact our team today!
